Surah No

76

Surah Al-Insan discusses the creation of humans, their purpose, and the reward for righteous deeds. The Surah emphasizes:

  • The creation and purpose of human life: It reflects on how humans were created from a humble fluid and have the potential for great deeds.

  • Choice and free will: Allah grants humans the ability to choose between good and evil, and they are responsible for their decisions.

  • The reward for the righteous: Those who choose to do good, worship Allah, and act with compassion will be rewarded with eternal bliss in Paradise.

  • Contrast between the righteous and the disbelievers: It contrasts the outcomes of those who follow divine guidance versus those who reject it, highlighting the consequences in the Hereafter.

  • Reminder of human humility: The Surah reminds humans of their humble beginnings and encourages them to be grateful to Allah.

  • Call to righteousness: It urges believers to choose the path of righteousness, charity, and devotion to Allah to earn His pleasure and the eternal reward.

  • Encouragement for patience: It encourages patience in the face of hardship, with the promise of Paradise for those who persevere.

  • Spiritual purification: Reading the Surah helps cleanse the heart and reminds of the transient nature of life and the eternal reward.

  • Strengthens gratitude and humility: Reflecting on the creation of humans from a humble origin promotes humility and thankfulness to Allah.

  • Encourages good deeds: It serves as a motivation to engage in acts of charity, righteousness, and patience, all of which lead to Paradise.

  • Rewards for righteous actions:

    • The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: “Whoever recites Surah Al-Insan, Allah will grant him a place in Paradise.” (Tafsir Ibn Kathir)

  • The reward of patience and charity:

    • Allah says in the Surah (76:8-9): “They give food in spite of their love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, saying, ‘We feed you only for the sake of Allah; we do not desire from you reward or gratitude.’”
