Surah Al-Ma’idah (The Table Spread) is the fifth chapter of the Quran, revealed in Madinah. It is one of the final Surahs revealed, emphasizing laws, ethics, and covenants. The central themes include:
Obedience to Allah and His Messenger.
Fulfillment of promises and contracts.
Laws regarding halal (lawful) and haram (forbidden), including dietary rules.

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said about 5:3, “This verse was revealed on Friday, on the Day of Arafah, making Islam a complete way of life.” (Sahih al-Bukhari)
Importance of Justice and Truthfulness:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “The most beloved to Allah is the one who upholds justice even against himself.” (Sunan Abu Dawood)
Respecting Laws and Promises:
Surah Al-Ma’idah stresses keeping agreements, which aligns with the Prophet’s teaching: “A believer’s promise is a responsibility he must fulfill.” (Tirmidhi)
