  • Affirmation of Tawheed (Oneness of Allah): Emphasizes the worship of Allah alone and the rejection of idolatry.

  • The Surah was revealed in Makkah and serves to comfort and reassure the Prophet (ﷺ) during times of opposition, reminding him of the fate of previous nations that rejected their prophets.

  • Allah’s control over creation and His justice in punishing those who oppose His guidance is emphasized.

  • Protection from hardship: Reciting the Surah brings comfort and protection, as it reassures that Allah’s mercy prevails over hardship.

  • Strengthens faith in Tawheed: Encourages reflection on Allah’s oneness and the consequences of rejection.

  • Reminder of divine justice: Reinforces that no one escapes divine justice, and those who follow the truth will be rewarded.

  • Patience in adversity:

    • The Prophet (ﷺ) was advised to remain patient, as Allah says in 15:87, “And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the oft-repeated verses and the great Quran.”
